When telenovela producer Jose Alberto Castro opened the auditions in the telenovela remake of Teresa, many telenovela stars expressed their interest to play the role which propelled Salma Hayek's career to stardom in Mexico. Some of these actresses who battled for the role include: Angelique Boyer, Adriana Fonseca, Fabiola Campomanes, Vanessa Villela, Violeta Isfel, Mariana Seoane, and Sherlyn. It was Aracely Arambula, however, who seems to have impressed the producer.
The choice came as a shocker for some especially since Corazon Salvaje, the latest Aracely Arambula starrer failed to do good in the ratings.
