Jason Canela es un actor cubano-americano de telenovela. Tiene 17 años y nació en Miami, Florida. Es hijo de padres cubanos. Su padre llegó desde Cuba a Estados Unidos en la balsa Mariel.
Hizo su debut actoral como Santiago en la telenovela de Telemundo Donde Esta Elisa donde el interpreta al adolescente rebelde y drogadicto.
Jason disfruta su primer trabajo como actor después de haberse preparado estudiando tres años teatro con Sebastián Ligarde. Empezó a los 14 años en la taller de Ligarde, la escuela de la que también se graduó su famoso hermano, Jencarlos Canela, protagonista de la exitosa telenovela Más sabe el diablo.

* Is the youngest child. His siblings are: Erik, Jencarlos and Annette.
* Has always loved acting. He fondly remembers that he appeared in a play called "Los niños y la mata” when he was only 10 or 11 years old. He played "La Mata"
* Formally studied acting in the school of Sebastian Ligarde, which teaches the Meisner method of acting .
* Also sings like his brother Jencarlos. In fact he used to sing at Quinceanera parties to earn extra cash.
* Is in the senior year in high school. He was allowed by his parents to act in telenovelas provided he finishes high school. According to him, school remains to be his priority. He related in an interview that he would always wake up at 6:30 to go to school. Then, at 2 pm he would leave school (with special permission, of course) to shoot scenes for the telenovelas. After which, he would go home to finish his homework and study his lines for the telenovela.
* Gets a special privilege in school, that is, he is allowed to leave an hour earlier than his classmates. However, to continue enjoying his privilege, he is prompt in submitting his homeworks.
* Had a twin, unfortunately, his twin died when he was just 10 months old. Jason was so attached to his brother that he used to sleep with the pillow he and his twin used to share. He only gave up the habit when he was 13 years old, upon realizing that the memory of his twin will forever be in his heart. The pillow, however, remains in his cabinet.
* Is determined to go to college and get a degree in musical production or cinematography.
* IS SINGLE and is LOOKING FOR A DATE for his Senior's Prom. :)
